Póvoa de Varzim was a small harbour but had a nice town to discover.
On Sunday 14th October there was a festival in the city of different groups of boy scouts.
We spent 5 days there but we have to admit that laying in a box in the harbour caused damage to our robes. Unfortunately, due to the swell our boat bobbed up and down in the water. We destroyed two ropes! One rope tore through the movement of the swell and the other one is a story for itself!
When we wanted to cast off, Dieter ran both engines and Claudi threw the ropes from the runway to the boat. Suddenly one of the engines stopped. We had to interrupt our procedure and tied the boat back to the runway. What happened? One rope slipped back into the water and twisted itself round the sail drive engine! What to do next? Dieter turned his shorty on and went into the water. He dived to the engine and freed the rope from the sail drive. What a happening!!
Luckily we had enough time to sail to Porto but it was already dark at 20:30 when we entered the marina.
