Our way to Póvoa de Varzim

We spent two days in Viano do Castello because we couldn't enter the marina. It was full of boats and had no space for our "small" baby ;o( We stayed outside near a floating runway. The evening of our second day should bring heavy wind. The current and the swell from the Atlantic were sometimes so strong that Whitebird was pressed against the runway. We were afraid the swell could cause some damage to our boat. We put all fenders against our ship's side and tied some more ropes to the runway to be safe.

Our night was not too cosy as you can imagine. That's the reason we wanted to leave our place the earlier the better. The displeasing thing was the wind came from the wrong side and we had waves against us. All effects together let Claudi feel uncomfortable and we didn't stop in Porto but one harbour earlier in Póvoa de Varzim. The marina was very gentle because we didn't have to pay the price for multihulls and we were in low season. That made costs cheaper.

Since autumn time comes Claudi's best friend did handicrafts with chestnuts and acorns and made a wonderful sailor with a fishing rod ;o)) The foto is so nice!!
