Small dinosaurs ;o)

Around the corner of Great Guana Cay was located Bitter Guana Cay where we were supposed to see iguanas. The iguanas are endangered and found only on the Bahamas. They were quite confiding and approached us very close. We weren't sure how close they would come that's why we took a step backwards ;o)

Great Guana Cay

At Great Guyana Cay (5th March) we stopped for provisioning and washing our clothes. The laundry had an own dinghy dock! For the kids it was exciting to meet so many people in the washing room and to rummage in old books some sailors left in a book shelve. On our whole journey we hadn’t met any sharks so far. The next destination was Rudder Cut Cay where you can find "The Musician". It is a life-sized sculpture of a mermaid waiting near the bench of a piano for someone playing her a tune. Visiting an abandoned research center

On 1st March we reached Lee Stocking Island. The speciality about this island was that it operated a marine research center from 1984 to 2012. The Perry Institute for Marine Science included laboratories, housing, an airstrip, a dock, boats, and dive support facilities (they had even a decompression chamber). Prolongating our visa

Very close to Cienfuegos is a "delfinarium". There live 9 dolphins (aged 24 until 29 and a baby dolphin with 2 months) next to the Caribbean Sea in a big area where it was ethical for us to pay them a visit. They can become 50 years old. Our first trip without skipper. We started our trip in Emden with destination Borsfleth (about one hour with the car north of Hamburg). We left the main Emden lock without any problems.
